Higher Learning Commission

The Higher Learning Commission (HLC) has assigned Dr. Mary Breslin as the Commission Staff Liaison to The University of Arizona. Dr. Breslin is the primary resource person from the HLC to the University, and the University's liaison back to the HLC. The liaison is responsible for explaining HLC policies and procedures to the University, and drawing on the expertise of additional HLC support staff to provide assistance and service to the University as needed.

Mary B. Breslin, BVM joined the staff of the Commission in March 1993. She serves as staff liaison for approximately 190 institutions and provides support for the Board of Trustees and other Commission activities. Breslin holds a B.A. degree in Economics from Mundelein College, an M.A. degree in Economics from Marquette University, and a J.D. degree from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. She held a series of positions at Mundelein College, including ten years as Vice President for Business Affairs and Treasurer and six years as President. Breslin served as Vice President for Finance at NAES (Native American Educational Services) College in Chicago in 1991-92. She has had extensive involvement with NACUBO, having served two separate times on the Board of Directors, and was the first woman President of the Central Association of College and University Business Officers. She also served as a member of the Federation of Independent Illinois Colleges and Universities, the Associated Colleges of Illinois, and the Commission on Women in Higher Education of the American Council on Education.
